چکیده

Background One or two decades ago, when computers resources were much lower, steady-state formulations have attracted considerable interest in the field of material forming simulation More precisely in the metal forming field, it was extensively applied for rolling processes. Early simulations were done for thick plates [1] and simple shape rolling [2]. They were extended to seamless tube rolling [3, 4] and complicated shape rolling [5] before being applied to more complex material behavior [6] and to rolling stand deformation [7]. Abstract

Stabilized nite element method for viscoplastic ow: formulation with state variable evolution

A stabilized, mixed nite element formulation for modelling viscoplastic ow, which can be used to model approximately steady-state metal-forming processes, is presented. The mixed formulation is expressed in terms of the velocity, pressure and state variable elds, where the state variable is used to describe the evolution of the material’s resistance to plastic ow. The resulting system of equati...

Incompressible laminar flow computations by an upwind least-squares meshless method

In this paper, the laminar incompressible flow equations are solved by an upwind least-squares meshless method. Due to the difficulties in generating quality meshes, particularly in complex geometries, a meshless method is increasingly used as a new numerical tool. The meshless methods only use clouds of nodes to influence the domain of every node. Thus, they do not require the nodes to be conn...

اکستروژن سه بعدی به روش میدان خطوط لغزش

Many metal forming problems have been solved using the slip line field method but all of them have either been two-dimensional (plane strain or plain stress) or axisymmetric problems. In this paper a procedure has been proposed by which the slip line field solution to three dimensional problems of metal forming becomes possible. For this purpose the extrusion of shaped sections has been taken a...

The Solution of Laminar Incompressible Flow Equation with Free Surfaces in Curvilinear Coordinates

In this paper a novel numerical approach is presented for solving the transient incompressible fluid flow problems with free surfaces in generalized two-dimensional curvilinear coordinate systems. Solution algorithm is a combination of implicit real-time steps and explicit pseudo-time steps. Governing fluid flow equations are discretized using a collocated finite-volume mesh. Convective terms a...
